DAT Group sponsors solar lights to illuminate border patrol routes

DAT Group sponsors Sokoyo solar lighting system to illuminate the border patrol area at Đắc Ơ Border Guard Station, Bình Phước province, contributing to supporting soldiers in their border management, COVID-19 prevention, and ensuring security. This project also marks a meaningful initiative in celebration of the Vietnamese People’s Army Day.

Đắc Ơ Border Guard Station is tasked with protecting nearly 16km of border, including 9 main border milestone positions with 7 secondary and 2 main positions in Bình Phước province, adjacent to Ô Răng district, Mondulkiri province, Cambodia. Given the complex terrain of the border route, which hinders movement and living conditions for the soldiers, there has been a shortage of equipment and lighting systems, heavily reliant on generator operation from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM daily.

Therefore, the installation of solar-powered lighting systems along critical routes and guard posts is crucial, aiding soldiers in border patrols and surveillance activities.

Following contact, surveys, and collaborative planning with Đắc Ơ Border Guard Station, DAT Group organized a sponsorship campaign, pooling internal resources to fund solar lights for the soldiers. This initiative reflects DATers’ social responsibility and community focus, celebrating the 78th anniversary of Vietnamese People’s Army Day (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2022) and the 33rd anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 – December 22, 2022).

DAT Group has initially sponsored 20 sets of Sokoyo solar lights, including the “Standard Quality” Solo 15W and Capsol 10W models, to be installed for night illumination around checkpoints tasked with border management, COVID-19 prevention, cultural and sports activities.

Mr. Tiêu Văn Đạt, CEO of DAT Group, further shared about the project: “In parallel with business development, DAT Group always focuses on community engagement, promoting sustainable values through various meaningful actions. Over the years, DAT Group has sponsored rooftop solar power systems and solar lights across provinces, bringing clean, efficient energy to remote areas, contributing to building prosperous new rural areas. Therefore, DAT Group is delighted to continue expanding smart lighting solutions, sponsoring Sokoyo lights to illuminate the border patrol route managed by Đắc Ơ Border Guard Station, standing together with soldiers to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Representing the unit’s officers and soldiers, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Tài Huy, Commander of Đắc Ơ Border Guard Station, expressed gratitude to all DATers: “Seeing the patrol routes illuminated with modern solar-powered lights, operating completely autonomously without relying on the power grid, we deeply appreciate and cherish such special gifts. Previously dark sections of roads at night are now brightly lit, enhancing visibility and safety for patrols and guard duties.”

Once fully operational, the solar lighting system is expected to save 100% of electricity used for lighting, reduce emissions by over 292kg CO2 annually, equivalent to planting 13 new trees. This will significantly improve the quality of border patrol route lighting, relieving the national electricity grid.

With a vision to become a leading technology, trade, and service corporation in industrial automation and renewable energy in Vietnam, DAT Group pledges to continue sponsoring more green energy projects, pioneering the creation of an ecosystem that enhances efficiency and delivers optimal value to customers and partners while actively contributing to social responsibility and community development.
