DAT donates a solar power system to Specialized Education School on May 15th.
On the morning of December 28, 2018, DAT Engineering Company Limited (DAT) collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) to organize a ceremony for the inauguration and donation of a grid-connected solar power system to Specialized Education School 15/5 at 06/11 Street No. 3, Lu Gia Residential Area, Ward 15, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from DAT, EVNHCMC, the Youth Union of District 11, the Department of Education of District 11, the school’s administration, teachers, and students.
Specialized Education School 15/5 currently educates nearly 70 disabled students, children of households in District 11 and neighboring areas of Ho Chi Minh City. The school includes classes for hearing-impaired children and slow learners, aged between 6 and 18 years. Besides academic education, the school also fosters and develops talents among its students.
In December 2018, DAT, in collaboration with EVNHCMC, fully sponsored a 6kWp rooftop solar energy system for Specialized Education School 15/5 under the “Sharing Green Dreams” project. This initiative aims to support the school in using clean energy, thereby reducing monthly electricity costs.
The rooftop grid-connected solar system installed at Specialized Education School 15/5 has a total capacity of 6kWp, comprising 22 Canadian Solar panels and 1 iMars BG inverter from INVT. The system operates automatically, is easy to operate, monitor, and check electricity production via the iMars application on mobile phones. It generates approximately 720 kWh per month, providing electricity for daily activities and living, significantly reducing the school’s monthly electricity expenses. This allows the school to allocate additional funds to other activities, thereby improving the quality of teaching and learning.
During the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Hung, Principal of Specialized Education School 15/5, expressed his gratitude: “Since installing the solar energy system, we are delighted that the school not only uses clean energy but also saves a significant amount on electricity costs every month. On behalf of the school, I would like to thank the sponsors for sharing such meaningful and practical benefits with our students.”
The “Sharing Green Dreams” project by DAT is a community-oriented initiative aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and protecting the environment. It also promotes awareness among the public about the benefits of clean and renewable energy, especially solar energy, which has immense potential in Ho Chi Minh City, in line with the state’s policy to encourage solar energy usage.
System details:
- System capacity: 6.05 kWp
- Configuration: 22 Canadian Solar 275Wp panels, 1 INVT iMars BG inverter
- Electricity production: 8975 kWh/year
- CO2 emission reduction: 5385 kg CO2/year”
