IAVietnam – DAT sponsors solar street lights for traffic illumination in Lam Dong
On August 19, 2022, DAT Technology Company Limited (DAT) held a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over the Solar Street Light Project sponsored in Bong Lai hamlet, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province to the local authorities. This is the next ‘green project’ DAT has sponsored in 2022, aimed at allowing local residents to experience the effectiveness of solar lights, enhancing the quality of rural traffic lighting, and promoting a positive message of environmental protection.
Bong Lai hamlet has not been properly equipped with adequate street lighting, causing inconvenience and safety issues during nighttime travel. Therefore, the local government has been keen on improving the street lighting system here to enhance the quality of traffic lighting and build a new rural image.
Understanding the concerns of Bong Lai residents, DAT decided to sponsor a solar street light system, collaborating with the local government to implement an intelligent lighting project covering 1.8 kilometers of road leading to Zones 1 and 2 in Bong Lai hamlet, Hiep Thanh commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province.
For this project, DAT sponsored 51 Sokoyo solar street light poles, including SOLO 15W, TECO 20W, and CONCO 80W models, along with various equipment and materials, design drawings, and project execution coordination. The total estimated cost for the entire project exceeded 650 million VND, with installation commencing in July 2022, supported wholeheartedly by the local authorities.
To ensure high economic efficiency and stable operation of the project, meeting brightness requirements and Ministry of Construction standards, DAT utilized Sokoyo solar lights known for their ‘Quality Standard,’ featuring superior design, technical specifications, complete test reports for lamps and LED chips, and certifications such as CE, RoHS, IEC, ISO… successfully applied in numerous smart lighting projects across Vietnam.
Following the construction and safety evaluations, the project was officially inaugurated and handed over on August 19, 2022, with the participation of local government representatives from Hiep Thanh commune, Duc Trong district, DAT’s leadership team, construction contractors, and various media units, as well as local residents.
During the ceremony, Mr. Tieu Van Dat, CEO of DAT, shared: ‘Alongside our business activities in automation and renewable energy sectors, DAT always focuses on community engagement through numerous charitable activities, sponsoring solar power systems and solar street lighting projects to spread the practical benefits of green energy across provinces nationwide. Seeing many roads in Bong Lai hamlet illuminated by solar lights, improving convenience and safety for residents traveling at night, DAT is pleased to have sponsored and successfully completed this project in line with expectations and goals, receiving high praise from the local government and residents.’
With the aspiration to ‘Illuminate every path with solar energy,’ enhancing the quality of rural and urban traffic lighting, DAT will continue to sponsor and implement more green energy projects in the future. Concurrently, aligning with the government’s commitment to achieving ‘Net Zero’ emissions by 2050 through renewable energy applications, DAT aims to build a sustainable green future.”
The Bong Lai street light project operates entirely autonomously, requiring no connection to the power grid, thereby eliminating risks of electric shock, fire hazards, and the costs associated with wiring, trenching, and maintenance. It is projected that annually, the system will save 100% of electricity usage, equivalent to 17,520 kWh, and reduce emissions by over 14,088 kg of CO2. This initiative contributes to creating a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe rural landscape, effectively fulfilling the criteria for constructing new rural areas and easing the burden on the national electricity grid.
Looking ahead, DAT will continue to collaborate and sponsor more green energy projects, continuing its pioneering mission to enhance the efficiency of the ecosystem, delivering optimal value to customers and partners, enhancing social responsibility, and positively contributing to the community.
