Vietnam Energy – Inauguration of the solar street lighting project sponsored by DAT in Lam Dong Province

NANGUONGVIETNAM – On August 19, 2022, DAT Technical Company Limited (DAT) organized the inauguration and handover ceremony of the sponsored solar street lighting project in Bong Lai hamlet, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, to the local authorities. This is the next “green project” sponsored by DAT in 2022, helping local residents experience the efficiency of solar street lights, improving the quality of rural traffic lighting, and spreading a positive message about environmental protection.

The road passing through Zones 1 and 2 of Bong Lai hamlet, Hiep Thanh commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, is one of the important routes leading to residential areas with a high density of population movement. However, due to difficulties in installation and wiring to the power grid, the road through Bong Lai hamlet has not been properly invested in a systematic lighting system. Many sections lack lighting, causing inconvenience and safety issues during transportation. Therefore, the local authorities always aim to improve the street lighting system here to enhance the quality of traffic lighting and build a new rural image.

Understanding the concerns of the people in Bong Lai hamlet, DAT decided to sponsor a solar street lighting system, collaborating with the local authorities to implement an intelligent lighting project for 1.8 km of roads in Zones 1 and 2 of Bong Lai hamlet, Hiep Thanh commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province.

ccordingly, DAT sponsored 51 Sokoyo solar street light poles, including SOLO 15W, TECO 20W, and CONCO 80W models, along with various equipment and materials, design drawings, and project execution coordination. The total estimated cost of the entire project is over 650 million VND, with installation scheduled for July 2022 with full approval and support from the local authorities.

To ensure high economic efficiency and stable operation of the project, meeting brightness requirements and standards of the Ministry of Construction, DAT used Sokoyo solar lights known for their “standard quality”, featuring superior design styles, technical specifications, full light and LED chip test reports, and certifications such as CE, RoHS, IEC, ISO… successfully applied in many smart lighting projects in Vietnam.

After a period of implementation and evaluation of safety and effectiveness, the project was officially inaugurated and handed over on August 19, 2022, with the participation of representatives from the local authorities of Hiep Thanh commune, Duc Trong district, DAT’s leadership, contractor representatives, and various media units, as well as residents living and working in Bong Lai hamlet.

Also, during the inauguration and handover ceremony, Mr. Tieu Van Dat – General Director of DAT shared: ‘In parallel with our business activities in automation and renewable energy development, DAT always focuses on the community through numerous volunteer activities, sponsoring solar power systems, and solar street lighting projects to spread the practical benefits of green energy across all provinces and cities nationwide. Seeing many roads in Bong Lai hamlet illuminated by solar lights, making it safer and more convenient for people to travel at night, DAT is delighted to have sponsored and successfully completed the project as expected and aimed, receiving high appreciation from the local authorities and residents in the area.

With the desire to ‘Illuminate every road with solar lights,’ enhancing the quality of rural and urban traffic lighting, DAT will continue to sustain and implement more sponsored projects in the future. Concurrently, we will collaborate with the government to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050, as committed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the COP26 conference on November 1, 2021, through renewable energy projects, building a sustainable green future.’

The Bong Lai solar street lighting project operates completely automatically, without the need for grid connection, eliminating risks of electric shock, fire, and avoiding costs for wiring, road digging, and maintenance. All Sokoyo solar lights will be covered by a 3-year warranty, while the light poles will be covered for 1 year from the project acceptance date. It is estimated that annually, the system will save 100% of electricity usage, equivalent to 17,520 kWh, reduce emissions by more than 14,088 kg CO2, contributing to the creation of a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe rural landscape, effectively implementing the criteria for building new rural areas and reducing pressure on the national electricity grid.

Believing in the future, DAT will continue to accompany and sponsor more green energy projects, pioneering in creating an ecosystem to increase efficiency, bringing optimal value to customers and partners, enhancing social responsibility, and making positive contributions to the community.
